Jusst thought I would give ya all an update on Robert. He leaves tomorrow for Camp Lejeune North Carolina. That will be his first duty station. As soon as he gets an address to me I will pass it on. It has been so good having him home. He went and got a tattoo on his arm yesterday. As soon as I can I will get a pic of it and post it. I had everybody home but Tessa for labor day weekend and it was very nice. We had friends stop over from Bend that we hadn't seen in five years. Last time we seen them was when Derek and Katie got married FIVE years ago. Derek also had an old friend from Warrenton over. It was great seeing him too since it had been ten years since we had last seen him. So far I have had a very busy month.
We are just patiently awaiting the birth of the grandbaby now!!!!!!!!

My boys will be home next week. Derek and Katie are driving up from Reno to spend the weekend. I am excited to see them. Then Robert gets to come home on leave. Not sure how long but a day is better than no day. He will know more of how long his leave is on Monday.

Well this is what I have on Robert and what is happening with him right now. He got his orders of where he will be stationed first. Hope that is the proper termenology for the military. He will be going to NORTH CAROLINA. Wasn't to sure about that one at first but like this mom can control the US GOVERENMENT!!! So I have to be ok with it. Troy's comment was they have NASCAR races there. It just makes it hard to be able to decide which one of my kids I will see living at the end of the world. Oh well life goes on and it will all work out I am sure.

Just thought I would do a quick update. Here it is the tenth of August all ready. The summer has gone by very quick. I am not sure if Kalee would agree with that statement or not.
Robert is due to graduated from school in Missouri on the 30th of AUgust. I then believe that he will be able to come home on leave for a week or so. Not to sure on the leave time.

It has been a very uproductive summer. I haven't done much this summer other than a whole lot of cross stitching and making baby Mckenna stuff.

Tessa has about 2 months and three weeks left before baby Mckenna arrives. Both mom and baby are doing good. Tessa said that Mckenna is very very active which is very good. I am very excited to have my first grandbaby.

Robert left today for Camp Pendleton California. He has to report I believe it is 3:00 pm. on June 27th. His buddy Chase is driving him down. Kalee went with them. I am very proud of me for not being a basket case of water works. I miss ALL of kids dearly and would love to be closer to all of them.

Kalee got a letter from Robert yesterday and here is what has been happening with him. He made it through the crucible. It was no food, no sleep for I think he said 54 hours. This past week was swim week. That is the only thing I worry about cause my kids didn't do a lot of swimming when they were younger. He was fitted for his UNIFORM. I plan on taking lots of pics and will get them posted as soon as I get them home and developed. He once again has PINK EYE! Twice he has had it and never as a small child. We fly out in 18 days and I can touch him in 19!!!!!!!!! We can take him with us in 20 days. Love to all.

It has been awhile since I have had any news about work. I still love working at Lowe's. The managers there are great to work with. I have changed positions at work. I am the inventory replenishmet person. I get to scan empty spots throughout the store Monday thru Friday. It tells the associates what they need to stock that day. I get the pleasure of walking 116 thousand square feet on a daily bases sometimes twice in one day. The biggest bonus is I work MOnday thru Friday 5a.m. till 2p.m. and I get weekends off to spend with Troy. Now that the weather is starting to get nice car shows will start happening and hopefully we will get a couple of them in.

I am a little slow but yesterday was Kalee's 19th birthday. I worked and then we went to Vancouver after I got off. Of course we went to the mall and she bought an awesome digital camera and we window shopped for a little bit. Then we went and meet a friend of mine for lunch at Joe' Crab Shack. It was pretty tasty food. Kalee and I then headed home and stopped off for a pedicure and then on to the house. We waited for Troy to get off and then we took Kalee for a birthday dinner at the new steak house in Longview. Came home and she opened presents and we had ice cream cake. I think that she was very spoiled yesterday. Hopefully it makes up for not getting what she wanted for her birthday. What she wanted was to be with Robert. Soon we will see him.

Just so that you all know what is sorta going on. Robert is now in phase ll of boot camp. So he is now at Camp Pendlton. His address is the same it just takes longer to mail things out and longer for him to get letters. He said that he loves everyone and he is sorry if he hasn't written back to any one but that he loves getting the letters it helps alot he said. My sister Renae sent him a letter and he thought that that was pretty random but he loved getting the letter. I want to say that in just 46 short days he will be graduating from boot camp. I am starting my count down now cause I think that will help me not miss him so much. Some days are better than others and then there are the days that I still sit and cry. I never knew what it would be like not being able to talk to one of your children. I think I will go and try calling my mom and dad.

GRADUATION from Boot Camp

Graduation is set for June 9th. Family day is June 8th from noon til five p.m.
I will have times for the cermony on Friday in the next couple of days.
Robert said that he got 10 letters in one day. 7 from Kalee, 1 from me, 1 from Uncle Bill and 1 from Papa Charlie. He should hopefully be able to write more soon. It sounds like he is doing good. He had pneumonia and pink eye, and has lost 18 pounds. He also said it isn't as frightning as it was. Take care and love ya.

Don't know for sure what was going on but one day we rebooted the computer and the scanner started to work again and NOW there are pictures of Florida and Robert being sworn in to become a marine are on here.
The doctor released me from light duty finally!!!!! I am not 100% better but I am lots better than I was. My goal now is to be 100% by the time Marine bootcamp graduation rolls around. I have a few months to get there. You all take care and love to all.

Well Troy, Kalee and I went down to Portland yesterday and got to see Robert sworn in to become a Marine. It was a very hard day for me. I was an emotional wreck. Tessa is requesting an update on Daytona. I was going to wait for the pic's but oh well. It was the most awesome experience. We landed in Orlando on Friday and spent that day just sleeping. Saturday it was a beautiful 82 degrees so we decided to go to Daytona Beach. We never made it there. The freeway was a parking lot 35 miles out so we turned off and went shopping in a mall. Sunday we got up bright and early so that we could beat the traffic. We left our hotel at 6:30 and arrived at the racetrack at 8:30. It was cloudy and overcast but I thought oh it will burn off. NOPE!!!! It just got colder and colder. We could see our breath by the end of the race and my hands were purple and my toes were frozen. Would I do it again in the same weather conditions you bet I would. It is one thing to watch on t.v. it is another to feel the rush of the cars going by. I hope to have some pic's posted by the end of next week. Go Jimmy Johnson. He rules Bill by the way over Stewart!!!!!

My first day of calling in sick at work!

I woke up yesterday morn and had trouble walking, bending over, standing in general anything. It wasn't any better this morning. I ended up going and seeing a chiropractor because it was all in my back. He told me that I had managed to pinch my syatic (not sure on the spelling) nerve which was causing the pain and the burning tingling feeling down my right leg. He cracked me three times and told me to come back tomorrow. I am so glad that I am off for the weekend but then I work ten days before Daytona. I do feel better than what I did this morning but I am not doing anything but taking it easy.

THE FIRST DAYOF WORK AT LOWE'S

I guess you would say that the first day that Lowe's was open for the public was the 26th of Jan. We were suppose to have that day just for contractors but the night before was our family and friends night and we ranked second in the district in sales and we only were there for four hours. I loved having customers to talk to again. I also sold the first John Deere lawn tractor in the region and the district for our store on Thursday. Boy was I the hero that day. So far I still love my job. Alot different from the ways of Sears. But I am learning all about it. It is still a lot of fun to work there.

Troy and I recieved the most awesome gift for Christmas and our 25th wedding anniversary.
Our Children: Derek, Katie, Robert, Tessa and Kalee bought us tickets to the DAYTONA 500 Nascar Race in Feb. along with pre pit passes. They are also providing us with the air fare and hotel room so all we have to do is come up with suvioner money which should be ok.
The only thing is is I have NEVER been in an airplane in my entire life so my first time is all the way across the United States!!!!!!!!

We went and got our tree on Saturday evening. Had dinner then came home and decorated it. I finished the house decorations yesterday afternoon but Tessa usually has it all done for me. Maybe next year will be a little bit easier for me. Robert and Kalee are looking at an apartment in CR. It almost looks like they will take it. It is small but not bad price for the rent and I think that it is time that they start moving on with their lives. Once they move out they will realize what fun it is right Tessa?

Well Tessa is yelling at me cuz I haven't posted in awhile. Don't know why she would do something like that since I have talked to her like everynight this week. I am having horrible withdrawls right now. I haven't had her help in decorating for Christmas so it still isn't done. Maybe I will get into today.
I finished my second week at Lowe's and love it. I was getting up at 2:45 a.m. all week so that I could carpool. The lady I was riding with works in the cash cage and started at 5:00 a.m.
The really great thing about all that is I was home at 1:00 in the afternoon. Somedays I did nap but not until four. Hense the reason I am up now at this time on a Saturday. I have Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday off this week and go back to work Tuesday at ten. Then Wednesday starts the hell days. We start setting the steel racks that day at 6:30 and we will be working 12 hour days until the racks are set.

Well I made it through the first week of work with Lowe's. There is not a lot of difference from what I was doing before. I did have to learn how to use their system for ordering and stuff like that. I got a little bit of time on the registers but that isn't somewhere that I will be spending a lot of time. I have one more week in Portland and then we go to sitting racks. I am excited but kind of dreading that. For those of you that has been in a Lowe's that is what all the store merchandise is on and we have to build it from the ground up. I have heard that it is very hard work and that a lot of people quit during this time. I would imagine that there will be some days that I won't be able to move but that is ok. So far I love it there but let me get into the local store and see. I enjoy working with the lady that will be in my department and I know one of the other people that will be working with me but other than that don't know who else will be there that I know. Well I only had to show up for work Monday and Tuesday this week. Because of the holidays they don't want us in the other stores until Monday. So for the first time in nine years I don't have to be up at o dark thirty to get ready for work to be there by 5:30 a.m. My first holiday season with out retail. Oh my what am I to do? Oh wait I DON'T HAVE TO GET UP UNTIL I WANNA!!!!!!!

Well today was my first day of training with Lowe's. A lot of boring reading about all the hoopla that goes with a new job. I then got the very ironic news I HAVE TO COMMUTE TO VANCOUVER FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!! Now who is the joke on?

MY LAST DAY OF WORK AT SEARS

Well yesterday was the last day I worked for Sears. After 9 years it will seem a little strange not to go to work there the day after Thanksgiving. I had a great day. Sells were fantastic and the day went by very fast. My co-workers sent me off with a cake from costco and one of the ladies I work with quilted a table runner for me. Something I will always be able to remember them all by. It felt good not to get up this morning and get ready for work. Guess I best enjoy today because I go back to work tomorrow. Wow what a nice break I took between jobs.

Well Saturday the 19th is my last day at SEARS and I am looking forward to not commuting. I am leaving alot of new friends but it does give me the excuse to go shopping at that mall instead of the one here. Will let you all know how my last day went.

Lets see mmmmmmmmmmm. I am very spoiled. I so wanted to get the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory but my kids said not to. So today in the mail was my movie. They all know how their mom is and that I couldn't wait for Christmas so they sent it early. THANK YOU DEREK, KATIE AND TESSA!!!!!! Mom is totally a spoiled brat and thanks for keeping me that way...

I only have three days left of work at Sears in Vancouver. My last day there will be Saturday and then I start my orientation for Lowes on Monday. I am so glad not to be commuting. I think that is why I get so tired most days due to the fact I travel two hours just to get to and from work.

In my excitement over a new job.............

In my excitement in getting a new job where I don't have to commute I neglegted to add a few things to my previous post. I start on the 21st of November. The store is due to open the second week of January. I will be able to help set the floor and put out merchandise for the next few weeks. It is something I don't mind doing and helps you learn what merchandise they will carry in the store. Will find out more about what they will do for the holidays as far as the hours go. Will keep ya all posted on the happenings as they happen.

I don't have to commute this winter. I got the job at Lowes. I start the 21st of November. The position is full 40 hours a week don't know the hours yet but right now I don't care i won't have to commute. Especially when Sears goes to holiday hours of 6 am to 10 pm.

Finally after sitting around on pins and needles waiting for the phone call to schedule my second interview they called me at 2:00p.m. My next interview is for Tuesday November 8th at 9:00. All I can do is pray that I get the job because I so don't want to commute in the wind and rain all winter!!!!!!!!! Love to all

Well I made it through my interview and the assesment test. I then was told to go home and take the skills test on the computer and to call back for a second interview. I am now waiting for the call back so that i can schedule my second interview. I think that the first one went very well!

Well today I go in for a job interview. Lowes is coming into Longview and I applied and now have a scheduled interview. I am tired of the drive back and forth to Vancouver everyday. Really don't understand how people commute. It isn't for me, only took me six months to figure that one out. After the ride I had yesterday I could just stay home and never leave!!!!
We had a horrible windy rainy morning. The wind was blowing my little truck like crazy. VERY TENSE RIDE TO WORK!!!!!! Well gotta run and get ready for my interview!

Well here it is the end of my first day off in seven days and i didn't get to much done. Went to the laundry mat washed the white clothes, sent Tessa a box of stuff, BOUGHT A PUMPKIN, came home dryed clothes, had company in the afternoon, fixed dinner, had Della over for dinner, had evening company (they left) Della and I walked over to the neighbors to met the new dog on the block. Very pretty puppy. Had to come home and let my dog be spoiled after smelling like another dog. My day is over and I don't think I did anything that I really wanted for my day off oh well there is always tomorrow!!!!!!

Well today is my friday and I am so glad that it is here. Now I would like it to be five o'clock then I could be on my way home. Can't complain to much I guess. I have thursday and friday off work on saturday and then have sunday monday off. Sorta of like a mini vacation.
The goal I have for my days off is to get a pumpkin bought so that I can cook it for pumpkin pie and bread during the holidays. You all have a great day I have to get ready for work love to all

Well today is my sixth day to work one more and i get a day off. I am so counting the hours until I get that day off. It just means that I get to go do laundry and all that good stuff that I have not been able to do since I have been working. Nothing to exciting going on in our neck of the woods we have had some pretty days weather wise the last couple of days. Little foggy in the mornings but clears off in the afternoon and is warm. This is actually for my daughter now she can't yell at me for not posting. You all have a great day.

They still don't know what caused the fire at Fort Clatsop. They are saying that it doesn't look like arson. They do plan to rebuild it, hoping to make it more authinic to the original one. Guess we will wait and see.
Troy spent two days in Shoreline Washington for school on Thurs and Fri. It is north of Seattle. I had both days off and I did nothing but cross stitch until I made my fingers bleed. Then I figured out if I put bandaides on I could still sit and stitch. I have caught the cross stitch bug again! It has been awhile since I have stitched much. My kids remember those days where mom just stitched all night long. I have to go and get ready for work you all have a great week end

I had yesterday off and spent it with Troy and it was great. It was nice to have a weekend day off. And to answer Chad's question yes that is the place that we all went to long time ago. I haven't heard anymore on what caused the fire yet. We have some very foggy morning. hopefully it will burn off and be nice I am all ready tired of the rain and winter hasn't even hit yet

They are talking maybe arson started the fire. It is pretty much destroyed but they are taking donations so that they can rebuild the fort. I don't know if it would be the same. But I guess it would be all right. Take care and you all have a great day. It is my FRIDAY yeah!!!!

You can go to daily astorian.com and read the newspaper article there. They are talking about rebuilding the fort. Cause is still undetremined. It bums me out I just hope that it wasn't arson.

The historical Fort Clatsop burned. Bill for you that would be that place that you couldn't figure out how to open the door many years ago when you all came up for a visit. They are still trying to figure out what caused it

I never realized how much I read blogs until I was with out the internet for five days!!!!
I wasn't able to see what my other two daughters from other mothers were up to in Montana. Boy it sure was nice to get caught up on everything. I am glad that my kids in Nevada finally are able to be on line again. I enjoy talking to them on the puter.
Fall has finally landed in the good ole state of Washington. It is wet and cold. I need to go bring in wood and start the fire for the winter. Love to ya all

Life is good. I am much better. Not missing Tessa so greatly now. Whew it didn't take me long to figure out what to do with out her here. I call her daily. Or if you were to talk to her I probably talk to her more now than when she was here. At least four to ten times a day. Not really but I am getting better about always calling her. I have three days off the first of the week so I will spend more time updating

yay he is home

Robert got home from his fire last night. I was very happy to see him. They got sent home early because of rain and there was a bunch of people there to fight the fire.
Talked to Tessa for a little bit yesterday and Zac left yesterday morning very early and made it home in the afternoon. She said that he was very tired. I think that she ran him everywhere that she could and if she wasn't running him here and there Derek and Katie jumped in.
The four of them went to Tahoe and Virginia CIty on Saturday. From the sounds of things they had a great time

Robert got sent out to a big fire

Well Robert finally got the phone call for the big fire at 12:30 am sept. 9. He was running around packing his stuff back up since he was told the other day that his last day was the 15th of Sept. So he figured he was pretty much done. It looks like he will be gone at least 14 days!!!!!
A little scary for the mom here. They are an hour and a half out of wenatchee washington.
Keep him in your prayers to keep him safe out there.

Talk to Tessa today and she has moved into her room, painted two walls pink, is on her way to visit grandparents in Winnemucca and got a job wow!!!!
I sure do miss her. I have been calling her alot and just talking. It is amazing how much I can get done in a morning with out her to sit around and visit with or to go into town. hummmmmmmmmm would rather have her here to visit with, watch movies, visit and just all round hang out together. I will get better as the days go on. It is one thing to have a son leave home but totally different for your daughter to go!!!!!

Some days I hate being so soft hearted. Tessa and Derek left this evening to move Tessa to Fernley. Of course they had to wait until I got off of work to leave and I ran and cried after they left. Two gone one to go. Not sure what Robert's plans are but I am ok with him waiting a little bit before he goes. Not to sure how much I can take at one time.
They should arrive in Fernley sometime Monday morn. Tessa plans on duing some visiting in Winnemucca with Zac before he heads back here to get ready to leave for college in Seattle.

I know that I have said that I was excited to have her leave but now........

Well I picked Derek up from the airport this evening. He flew up so that he could help Tessa move to Fernley. I have been excited for this day but now that it is here can I turn back time
and make them all little again. I have waited many years for this day but now I am not real sure what I will do with my time.
Robert is still living at home at this time. So I still have him to clean up after. But he doesn't go shopping with mom anymore.....

Well Tessa has finally said when she was going to move out. She will leave to move to Reno on Sept. 4. Derek is going to come up and help her drive down there. She seems to be pretty excited about the move. I was all for it at first and then got to thinking I am losing my all time favortie shopping partner :( I will miss her tons but I am glad to see her moving on with her life. I hope that she will go to college there and get a good education.

THE BEST BIRTHDAY EVER

I had a super birthday yesterday. Tessa and I were to meet RObert, Kalee and Zac for lunch at noon but RObert called and he had a tire blow out on the freeway and didn't have a lug wrench to fit the lug nuts. So we told Zac that we would let him know what time to meet us for lunch. We finally got out to Robert and he had already called some one else and they brought him a lug wrench that worked. THey took me to lunch at my favortie chinese resturant. Had bubble tea it was pretty good. We took Robert's car to sears to be fixed since the tire isn't a year old. Tessa had to go to physical thearpy. Robert then took me and Kalee to get a pedicure. It was so nice.
Tessa's friend Danielle or to some know her as my other daughter from another mother, brought me a german chocolate cake and a tub full of goodies the tub of goodies was from Daniell e and Mandy(they both have left for college in Montana). Zac made me a tray of rice krispy treats with almond joys in them. Troy wanted me to go to dinner and I just couldn't leave the house the kids wore me out. So he bought pizza which was great cause I didn't have to cook and that was all I wanted. I was totally pampered for the day and it was awesome

Here it is the crack of dawn and I am UP!!!!! SO wanted to sleep in this morning cause its my birthday and I don't have to do anything if I don't wanna. Seriously the twins have something cooked up for me to do all day but won't tell me. I do know that we are all gonna go to lunch at noon we are meeting up with Zac on his lunch hour. Then I don't know what I am going to be doing. Robert and Kalee and Tessa have done all the planning maybe I should be very afraid.

Tessa is Tessicalynn and Grammie of course would be Grammie marie. They started this way back when Grammie lived with us for a short time before Chad gaduated from college.
